Let's start where most comparison pages won't. BookingCentral is a capable product, and for RV rentals specifically they've built the things that matter: damage deposits with pre-authorization and automatic release, e-signatures on rental agreements, pre-check-in links where your renter uploads a driver's license before they show up. If you've been looking at them because they seemed serious, you weren't wrong.

So this page isn't going to claim they're missing features. It comes down to two things instead: what they cost, and who they're built for. Every BookingCentral claim below comes from their own public site, checked on the date above. If something's changed or reads unfair, tell me and I'll fix it.

Two of those rows are close to a tie, and that's the honest read. Deposits and e-signed agreements are table stakes for renting out a vehicle, and they've built both.

The row that actually decides it for most small owners is the first one. You can't find out what BookingCentral costs without talking to somebody. That's a normal way to sell software to a company with a fleet and a manager, and it's a strange way to sell to a person with two campers and a day job. Here the number is on the pricing page, it's $19 to $59 depending on fleet size, and you can start a 30 day trial without giving anyone a card or a phone number.

The second row is the quieter one. A platform that runs parasailing, escape rooms, and golf carts has to keep all of that working at once. Every decision is a compromise across six categories. This one only has to be right about campers, which is why the rental agreement is yours to rewrite, why the deposit timing assumes a trip and not an afternoon, and why nobody here will ever ask you to model a camper as a resource with a time slot.

Where BookingCentral is the better pick

An honest list, because you'd figure it out anyway:

You rent more than campers. If you also have boats, side-by-sides, golf carts, or run tours, they cover all of it in one system and this covers none of it. That's the clearest reason to pick them and it isn't close.
You want Smartwaiver. If you already run waivers through Smartwaiver and want that to keep working, they integrate with it. Our agreements are signed in-house.
You want a phone app and a sales team. They publish a mobile app and a support phone number. This is a website and one person who answers his own email.
Your operation is big enough that a quote beats a price list. Custom pricing usually means volume discounts exist. If you're running a real fleet with staff, that call may well end somewhere good.

If that's you, book the demo. If you have a few campers and mostly want a booking page, a calendar, deposits, and a signed agreement, you shouldn't have to sit through a sales call to learn what that costs.
