What a marketplace commission actually costs you
Rent your camper 10 nights a month at $120/night, that's $1,200. A marketplace charging a typical 20 to 25% commission keeps $240 to $300 of it. Every month. We charge a flat $19 a month.
Run three campers and the gap stops being a rounding error. Three units, 12 nights each at $140/night, is $5,040 a month. The same commission keeps $1,008 to $1,260 of that. Three published campers here is $31 a month, and it never scales with how much you book.
One fee does still come out and it isn't ours: Stripe's card processing fee, normally 2.9% plus 30¢ per payment, taken before the money reaches your bank. That's the only deduction on top of the flat subscription, we add nothing to it, and your exact rate is between you and Stripe since the account is yours.

Keep your marketplace listings if they're working
Easy Vibe Outdoors isn't a marketplace and doesn't pretend to be. It won't put your camper in front of strangers browsing for a trip.
It handles the renters you already bring in yourself: repeat guests, referrals, Facebook Marketplace, Instagram, word of mouth.
If Outdoorsy or RVshare still reaches people who'd never find you otherwise, keep using them. Use Easy Vibe Outdoors for the bookings you were always going to get anyway, and stop paying a commission on those.
How both calendars stay in step
Paste your Outdoorsy or RVshare calendar link into your dashboard and we re-check it about every 15 minutes, blocking those dates on your own booking page. You get a calendar link for each camper to paste into their side, so a booking taken here blocks the dates there. Two directions, no spreadsheet.
Now the honest part, because iCal is a file each side fetches on a schedule rather than a live connection. There's a lag at both ends. Ours is about 15 minutes. The other platform decides how often it re-reads your link, often an hour or more, and that half isn't ours to control. Inside that window the same nights genuinely can sell twice, and no calendar sync anywhere closes that gap completely. Anyone telling you otherwise is selling you something.
So we watch for it instead. When a connected calendar turns up dates that are already booked here, you get an email with the exact dates and a plain recommendation: cancel one of the two today, because the guest you cancel this week has options they won't have the week of the trip. If a feed stops loading at all, you hear about that too after a day, since a stale feed quietly stops blocking anything while still looking perfectly fine.
Your own bookings are a different story and can never collide with each other. That's enforced in the database on every booking, not by a sync that has to run first. It's only the gap between two separate companies that iCal can't close.

You set the security deposit on each of your campers. The day before pickup, we put a hold on the card the renter paid with. A hold is an authorization, not a charge, so the money is spoken for without ever leaving their account, and it never passes through ours.
If the trip goes fine, the hold releases on its own three days after return and you never have to think about it. If it doesn't, you capture part or all of the deposit from the booking page and the rest goes straight back to the renter. Your pickup and return inspections, photos included, stay attached to that reservation next to the rental agreement they signed.
This isn't insurance, and a hold can be declined like any other card transaction. If that happens you get an email that day and a Retry button on the booking, and the rental payment itself is untouched. What there isn't is a screen where your renter swaps in a different card, so past Retry it's a message to the guest and your own call on handing over the keys. Better you know that now than in the driveway.
Longer trips are covered too. Card networks expire a hold after about seven days, so on anything over six nights a fresh one is placed automatically before the old one lapses.

What you get instead is the thing a bigger company can't offer you: email hello@easyvibeoutdoors.com and it's me who answers, usually the same day, and if you're moving off another platform I'll walk your listings and your calendar over with you myself. Most of what shipped here recently came straight out of an owner emailing to ask for it.
