Wheelbase Pro vs. Easy Vibe Outdoors

Wheelbase is the rental-business software from Outdoorsy, the big RV marketplace. They're one company and the fees interlock, so this page looks at the whole stack together. Easy Vibe Outdoors is built by a camper owner, for one thing: renting out campers and small towable trailers to your own guests.

Here's the math on one booking. Take a $2,000 stay that comes through Outdoorsy at the starting host fee: $500 of it goes to fees before you see a payout, and your guest paid their own 10% service fee on top of that. The same booking from your own repeat guest, on your own page here, costs you $19 to $59 for the whole month. Your guest pays nothing extra.

A note on the software price, because it surprised me. Wheelbase's own help center calls it "free to use software" for direct bookings, and real RV fleets pay exactly $0 a month. Their pricing page advertises plans starting at $150 a month, so what a new account pays today is a question for their sales team. Either way the model is the same: the software is cheap or free because the money is in the booking side. The lead fee when Outdoorsy brings the guest, the $1 e-signatures, and the protection packages your guests buy at checkout. One more string worth knowing about: by their own help pages, a guest who found you on Outdoorsy stays an Outdoorsy guest, so if they book you through the marketplace again next summer, the lead fee applies again, and their terms watch for hosts who move those guests off platform.

To be fair both ways: that lead fee pays for real marketing. Outdoorsy puts your listing in front of renters you've never met, and if that's where your bookings come from, the fee is buying you something. The question is what you're paying on the bookings that were already yours: the repeat guests, the referrals, the people who found you on Facebook.

You also don't have to pick. Plenty of owners keep their Outdoorsy listing for new-renter discovery and take repeat and direct guests on their own page. Two-way iCal sync keeps both calendars honest with each other, so a booking on one side blocks the dates on the other.

Where Wheelbase is the better pick

An honest list, because you'd figure it out anyway:

You want renters brought to you. Outdoorsy's whole job is marketing your listing and sending you bookings, and the host fee is what pays for it. We bring you zero renters. You bring your own.
You want their trust and safety layer. Outdoorsy bookings include guest identity verification, reservation screening, and their protection packages. We don't offer insurance. Owners and renters arrange their own coverage.
You run a large fleet. Dynamic pricing, employee roles, API access, and dedicated account managers live on their higher tiers.
Your account is free and your bookings are already direct. If you're paying $0 a month and rarely see an Outdoorsy lead fee, staying put may genuinely be the cheaper call. A flat $19 to $59 only wins if it buys something you're missing, like e-signatures without the per-signature dollar or a guest list that's yours alone.

If that's you, Wheelbase is built for it. If most of your bookings are repeat guests and referrals you found yourself, do the math on what those fees are actually buying.
